A few weeks ago, I knew I need to get away from the city and have a complete breather before the school year starts. This is something I always do way back in college, you know, just a little escape to clear my head and possibly meditate on things that may come my way. Living in Davao means I have multiple choices on beaches just a boat away from the city and just my luck, Pearl Farm Beach Resort hosted a staycation.
From the city, it took me about a solid 25 minute ride (more or less depending on traffic) going to Pearl Farm’s marina port. And from there, we sailed 45 minutes going to Pearl Farm’s main island. When the boat is nearing the island, a sudden nostalgia hit me! During my younger years, I remember going to that island with my family on special occasions and just relax by the beach watching the sun set with orange juice in my hands… and a bad sun burn from basking way too much under the sun. No regrets though, those were one of the my best days of my life!
The Main Island
Upon arriving, the usual refreshments and towels are handed to the guests and a very fast introduction about the Island was given. I roamed around Pearl Farm’s Iconic Parola which is a modern-day tribute to Mindanaoan traditions and took a few photos for the blog while waiting for my boat, yet again. Wait! What Miel? Another boat? Yes! Another boat my friend. I am staying in one of their private villas in Malipanao Island!
From the main island, it takes about 5 minutes of boat ride to reach the said island.
We had the villa all to ourselves for practically two days and one night but the experience was nothing short of amazing. We stayed at a three-storey villa with three bed rooms (One Master’s Bed Room, One Bedroom with Twin Beds and One room with three beds) that can accommodate up to 14 people. The villa also offers a spacious lounge where you can rest and enjoy the breeze of the beautiful Island, a dining area to enjoy your fresh meals and a mini kitchen which we used just to store our water and wash hands.
Boodle Fight Dinner at the Main Island
At night-time, we then again sailed to the main island for supper and enjoyed a special boodle fight that they prepared for us. They served us the freshest sea foods, juiciest chicken and my personal favorite, their barbeques with fresh juice of your choice. Later, they served fresh fruits and desserts which we obviously enjoyed. After we satisfied our tummies, we went back to our villa and enjoyed the night talking before sleeping in our cozy room.
Second Day in Malipanao Island
The next day, we got up a little early for the breakfast buffet. If you don’t know yet, Pearl Farm has one of the best breakfast buffet I have ever tried, well, for me at least. With the variety of meals they serve that can accommodate western and Filipino taste buds, I think Pearl Farm really knows how to serve their guests right. My personal favorites are their freshly baked breads, omelette, bacon and adobo. Ugh! Just by typing this makes me hungry. Lol. I was busy munching that I forgot to take the usual number of photos I needed for the blog. Well, you gotta do what you gotta do. After lunch, I went back to the villa to take some photos, fix my stuff and took a nap while my friends enjoyed Pearl Farm’s water activities.
After lunch, we packed our bags and bid our adieu to our gorgeous villa and headed back to the city once again. Our stay in Pearl Farm might be short but totally worth it. Sometimes we all need to escape the city once in a while and experience the Island life which definitely, Pearl Farm, provided us. Can’t wait to get back soon!
Thank you Pearl Farm Beach Resort for the very warm welcome! I definitely felt home during my stay. 🙂
