I don’t know about you, but as cliché as it sounds I experienced a “Love at first sight” with Siargao the moment I stepped foot on the Island. With its palm trees and sea breeze? Any beach baby like me couldn’t ask for more other than a coconut water in my hands and lots of sunscreen to slather in my body. I know you’ll probably get sick of me repeating the word “Siargao” in this post but seriously, I can’t help it! I always have had high expectations with the said Island even before it was a hit on our Instagram feeds. And to tell you honestly, Siargao did not disappoint!
If there’s a Siargao Bug, I definitely got bitten on the first time I dived into its depths. Haha! I think one of the few factors are the laidback vibe of the Island and its warm people. If you think “chill” is drinking on a Saturday night with friends, Siargao has a lot more chill to teach you. Another is, its warm people, of course, Filipinos are known for being hospitable and nice but the people in Siargao has always a smile painted on their faces every time I glance at them… not in a creepy way though. And always welcoming in every place we see ecounter with them. Lol 🙂
I think me and my friends covered all the tourist-y things the Island can offer – Island Hopping, snorkeling, sunset chasing, food hopping, surfing, motor cycle driving, chill under a million stars, met new friends and swim in magpupungko tidal pool. That’s the best tourist-y thing we can do in 3 days and 2 nights. And still I think it’s not enough! Mind you, in a very tight budget – 5,000 Pesos! That’s why Siargao keeps calling me back for more “Moana” moment. Can’t wait to come back soon! 🙂
